November is the month of food (thanks for that, Thanksgiving), and one of our favorite times of the year due to the Charlie Awards. In its fifth year, this event showcases our local independent food and beverage community, and recognizes the exceptional contribution of the Twin Cities metro area restaurant, food, and beverage industry. Nemer Fieger’s charge was to garner pre and post publicity for the event, as well as secure media partnerships.
This year’s Charlie Awards was on November 15 at the Pantages Theatre, hosted by Kieran Folliard and Thomasina Petrus. The entertainment-packed show was well-attended and included a Minnesota Monthly After Party and a Chefs’ Dinner. A portion of the proceeds benefitted Open Arms of Minnesota, the only nonprofit organization in the state that cooks and delivers free meals specifically tailored to meet the nutritional needs of individuals living with life-threatening illnesses.
