Midtown Global Market’s (MGM) new Kitchen in the Market (KITM) space is now open and cooking up a good time. To celebrate the new, larger space, guests are invited to a weekend of culinary fun for the whole family, Friday, February 25 through Sunday, February 27, 2011.
Friday night, the social media followers of the KITM are invited to a special “TweetUp” gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a tour of the new space as well as MGM, and light refreshments will be served. Interested guests should follow KITM on Facebook or Twitter for event details.

On Saturday, FriendChip Farm will lead a fun, FREE kids cooking class from 10 to 11 a.m. On the menu: pancakes! Pre-registration is not required.
Saturday night, Chef Molly Herrmann of Tastebud Catering will lead a “Cookingthe Market” class from 5 to 8 p.m. The classes’ goal is to introduce participants to the fresh, unique ingredients the Market has to offer and to spark inspiration for creative meals. Cost of the class is $60 per person and participants must register at www.kitcheninthemarket.com.
Sunday, KITM will offer a “Heart Healthy Appetizers” class from 4 to 6 p.m. During this class, participants can also watch the Oscar® red carpet coverage, and take home a selection of appetizers for their own Oscar parties. The cost is $25 and participants must register at www.kitcheninthemarket.com.
