GOPHER GLORY Book Description:
The University of Minnesota's rich football tradition sets it apart from almost every other university in the country. Six national championships. Bernie Bierman. Bronco Nagurski. Francis "Pug" Lund. Bobby Bell. Carl Eller. Murray Warmath. These are some of the many Gopher players and coaches who serve as benchmarks in the annals of college football history.

Author Jim Bruton's inspirational chronicle of Golden Gophers football celebrates the great moments of a storied and historic program that has held a significant place in the hearts of Minnesota fans for over 100 years. Bruton, a former Gopher player, recalls the history, the traditions, the rivalries, the players and coaches, the great games of the past, the national championship teams, the Hall of Famers, the names behind the scenes, and the excitement over the future as the new on-campus TCF Stadium prepares for its 2009 opening. Bruton captures the anticipation of the campus preparing for a Saturday afternoon game, re-lives the thrill of last second victories and the disappointment of heart-breaking losses and highlights head coach Tim Brewster's desire to return the Gophers to national prominence.

Told from a fan's perspective, GOOPHER GLORY: The Pride of the Maroon and Gold is a must-have for all Golden Gopher faithful.
