MINNEAPOLIS (December 1, 2009) – The 2010 U.S. Bank Skyway Open tees-off in downtown Minneapolis, Thursday, February 25 through Saturday, February 27. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities.  The event, in its fourth year, is developed and run by the Minneapolis Downtown Network.

Each of the course’s 18 holes is custom designed and constructed by a local architectural, design or construction company.  With the theme “Downtown Scene: Minneapolis Arts & Entertainment,” the course will weave golfers through the downtown skyway system.

Thursday and Friday golfers can also enjoy entertainment, drink specials, music, and more at the 19th Hole Celebration on Friday evening. The 19th Hole is hosted by the Hotel Minneapolis and catered by restaurant Max.

Prizes will be awarded to architects for the top three hole designs as judged by a panel of local celebrities.

Event proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities. The Club serves youth ages 6-18 years old, over 13,000 youth each year, with a daily attendance of over 1,000. The Boys & Girls Club is an integral part of the neighborhoods it serves.  Its relationships with businesses, schools and families are built to better serve youth.  Club sites are placed in targeted neighborhoods where the need is greatest.  The organization’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
